Place2Be schoolchildren meet Paddington Bear

16/10/2017

Pupils from three Place2Be Partner Schools were invited by STUDIOCANAL, BAFTA Kids and Belmond to chat to Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry as well as cast and crew members from the new Paddington 2 film, before embarking on a special steam train trip.

The children, who attend Preston Park, Wykeham and Portway Primary Schools in London, were among 130 nominated by members of the Charities Forum, the group of charities of which Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry are Patrons.

As they boarded the Belmond British Pullman steam train, they chatted to several special guests including Their Royal Highnesses, actor Hugh Bonneville who plays Henry Brown in Paddington 2 and even Paddington Bear himself, who waved them off after dancing with The Duchess of Cambridge. During the journey they were also treated to a delicious afternoon tea.

Ten-year-old Mahira from Portway Primary School described the experience as "mind-blowing".
