Child Counselling Skills for Adult Counsellors (Level 5 Certificate)

Child Counselling Skills for Adult Counsellors (Level 5 Certificate)

For qualified adult counsellors and Counsellors on Placement with us, our Level 5 Certificate builds advanced counselling knowledge and play skills that will allow you to work therapeutically with children and young people.

Overview

Place2Be's Child Counselling Skills for Adult Counsellors (Level 5 Certificate) is an opportunity to build working with children into your counselling skills. You will learn theoretical approaches to working with children and young people and be able to apply them on placement with Place2Be. The programme includes:

  • a placement at a Place2Be partner school
  • supervision as a Counsellor on Placement
  • a therapeutic approach informed by nearly 30 years of experience
  • Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) candidate registration fee.

Our therapeutic approach, which you will be taught in this programme, is practice-led, backed by research and informed by our experience of almost 30 years of providing mental health services in schools. Our mental health professionals use our therapeutic approach daily with children and young people in our schools.

The Level 5 Certificate is suitable for:

  • qualified adult counsellors looking to work with children and young people and provides a built-in counselling placement in a Place2Be school
  • Place2Be Counsellors on Placement who wish to pursue a qualification that will allow them to work therapeutically with children and young people in a paid, professional capacity.
I cannot recommend this Level 5 course enough. [After completion], I feel I have the capabilities to be a successful Mental Health Practitioner and improve mental health outcomes for children and young people in my new school. L Howard, Level 5 participant
