Arts & Minds Gala Dinner

Arts & Minds Gala Dinner

A celebration of art and mental health

On 13 June 2024, at Battersea Arts Centre, we will hold our second Arts & Minds Gala Dinner. This year's gala dinner will be hosted by the actor Alistair Petrie, star of Netflix's hit show Sex Education.

Our luxury gala includes a champagne drinks reception, a three-course dinner, fine arts, spectacular entertainment and a silent auction. The evening will bring together 200 guests for a night to remember, all while raising vital funds for children and young people's mental health.

We will be treating guests to:

  • live performances from soulful singer-songwriter Katie Melua and students from our partner schools
  • the opportunity to participate in art activities that Place2Be practitioners use to support children and young people’s mental health
  • contemporary artist LUAP creating a spectacular artwork that will be auctioned off as part of our exclusive live and silent auctions.

Taking place every two years, we created Arts & Minds to shine a bright light on art as a creative tool to develop resilience and connect with each other.

This year, we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Place2Be. The gala promises to be a special moment marking this milestone.

We thank Marshall Wace and the Sadie Sherman Gallery, who have generously sponsored Arts & Minds 2024, and all others who have given their support.

Arts & Minds Gala 2022

We held our first Place2Be Arts & Minds Gala Dinner on 12 October 2022 at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). Our wonderful Place2Be Ambassadors Kate Silverton and Rhys Stephenson hosted the evening. Guests enjoyed exclusive appearances from:

  • The Joe Stilgoe Trio
  • poet Zohab Zee Khan
  • artist Ricky Martin.

Guests also heard the stories of students from some of our Place2Be partner schools. Arts & Minds Gala Dinner 2022 raised over £275,000. This year, we hope to raise even more vital funds to continue our work providing mental health support for children, families, and staff in UK schools.
