How to leave a legacy gift
How to leave a legacy gift
It is strongly recommended that you use a specialist solicitor or Will writing expert to help create or change your Will. They will be able to offer professional advice to ensure that your estate is distributed exactly according to your wishes. They can also advise you on how best to minimise the impact of inheritance tax on your estate.

We have information about how to leave a legacy gift to support children and young people's mental health in the future
We recommend that you seek the advice of an independent professional such as a solicitor when writing your Will.
The Law Society offers a free ‘Find a local Solicitor’ service or you can find a solicitor by calling 020 7320 5650.
Different ways to support Place2Be in your Will
There are several kinds of gifts you can leave. Each gift is special, and each plays a crucial role in helping to improve children and young people’s mental health. The two most common are a residuary gift or a pecuniary gift.
A share of your estate or ‘residuary’ gift
After your loved ones have been looked after and your taxes have been settled, you may wish to leave a share or the full remainder (the residue) of your estate to Place2Be. This way, you will ensure your loved ones are provided for as well as facilitate the important work we do to help children and young people.
A cash or ‘pecuniary’ gift
This is a single, exact cash gift left from your estate.
