The Wellbeing in Schools Awards took place on the 22 November at Mansion House, attended by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge and the Lord Mayor of London, judged by a distinguished panel of experts.
Place2Be's Wellbeing in Schools Awards - which celebrate and raise funds for our life-changing work - recognise ambassadors of positive mental health and highlight the unique contribution that schools make to the wellbeing of local communities.

School Community Award – Primary

Hackney New School, London Hackney New School which shows a dedicated, positive and open approach to students’ mental health.

Wendy Cameron, Antonine Primary, Glasgow
Wendy has created an environment where children can thrive, no matter what their circumstances.
School Hero
Nicola Harmer, Deputy Head Teacher, Mitchell Brook Primary School, London.
Nicola advocates on behalf of children with huge skill, combining directness with kindness and humour.
Place2Be Hero
Angela Shepherd, School Project Manager, Viking Primary School, London.
Angela delivers the Place2Be service for the whole community with honesty, care and love.
Place2Be Volunteer Counsellor
Sue Styring, Volunteer Counsellor, Viking Primary School, London.
Sue has supported over 50 children for 12 years with her warmth and empathy.

Abdelfattah Elashhab, age 8, Claremont Primary School, Manchester.
Abdel has shown resilience beyond his years. His courage and enthusiasm has inspired his friends and teachers.
Child Champion
Cerys Kenny, age 11, Longwood Primary Academy, Essex.
Cerys developed a unique workbook approach that helps pupils to overcome anger - benefitting countless individuals.
Young Person Champion
Kaii Bailey, age 16, ARK Walworth Academy, London.
Kaii developed her own resilience and not only thrived as an individual but gave back to the academy, students and the entire school family.
Each of the winners received £1,000 prize to benefit the wellbeing of their school.
