2021 Schools Time Capsule Terms and Conditions

  1. These Terms and Conditions shall be binding upon entering the 2021 Schools Time Capsule project. 

  2. This project is a collaboration between - and promoted by - Place2Be (Registered charity numbers 1040756 and SC038649), 175 St John Street, London EC1V 4LW; BAFTA (Registered charity number 216726), 194-195 Piccadilly, St. James's, London W1J 9LN; Oak National Academy (Registered Charity Number 1129683) (part of the Reach Foundation), Reach Academy, Fern House, 53-55 High Street, Feltham TW13 4AB. 

  3. Enquiries relating to the 2021 Schools Time Capsule (including enquiries about personal data collected about you as a result of your entry) should be addressed to Place2Be and sent to the above address. 

  4. Entrant details provided will be used for communicating about the project and will be held for a reasonable period of time. Details of entries which feature specifically in the highlights showreel film will be held until the re-opening of the time capsule in 25 years’ time. Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party. View our Privacy Policy  

  5. Entries will only be accepted from schools.  

  6. All UK schools are eligible to take part. Schools do not have to be working with, or engage the services of, Place2Be to take part. 

  7. Schools can enter in more than one category. 

  8. Individuals cannot enter the 2021 Schools Time Capsule.  

  9. Entries must be sent in the manner specified and submitted with an original completed Application Form.  

  10.  Proof of sending an online entry, is not proof of our receipt of your entry. Place2Be, BAFTA and Oak Academy are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or damaged or for problems with entries outside their control.  

  11.  Each entry must be the entrant’s own original work. Each entrant agrees to indemnify Place2Be, BAFTA and Oak National Academy, from and against any and all liability arising from their entry infringing any third party intellectual property rights (including without limitation copyright) being defamatory, libellous, or otherwise unlawful.  

  12.  It is the entering school’s responsibility that no identifiable data of young people be contained within the submitted contributions.  In addition, entering schools must have consent from all contributors featured in its submissions.  

  13.  Place2Be, BAFTA and Oak National Academy shall not be liable for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by any person taking part or not being able to take part in the 2021 Schools Time Capsule.  

  14.  All entries must be received by 17:00 BST on Friday 17 September 2021 (the ‘Closing Date’).  Place2Be, BAFTA and Oak National Academy cannot take any responsibility for any technical failure or malfunction, which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded.  

  15.  All eligible entries received by the closing date will be digitally stored within the 2021 Schools Time Capsule unless deemed inappropriate and not suitable for showcasing in a family-friendly environment. 

  16.  Once entry has closed, a selection panel will be convened with representatives from the three promoting organisations, to select entries to showcase in a highlights showreel. Unfortunately, we are not able to enter into correspondence about which entries have or have not been selected. 

  17.  By submitting an entry for the 2021 Schools Time Capsule, the School is deemed to have given consent for the entry to be published free of charge by Place2Be, BAFTA and Oak National Academy in all media, including television and internet, for all purposes as it wishes. 

  18.  In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the promoters reserve the right to alter, amend or foreclose the 2021 Schools Time Capsule without prior notice.  

  19.  We reserve the right to amend these rules at any time. By entering, all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules set out in the 2021 Schools Time Capsule material.
