Application for Certificate in Working Therapeutically with Children and Young People in Schools

Step 1

Before you start your application

We will ask you to answer the following questions as part of your application. We advise preparing your answers before starting to submit your application. Each question has a 1500-character limit (this is between 215 and 375 words with spaces included).

1. Why do you wish to work with children in a therapeutic setting, and what qualities do you feel you (can) bring to this work?

2. Describe a time in which you experienced an ethical dilemma or difficulty in a therapeutic relationship either in adult or children and young people work. What issues arose? How were these managed?

3. How do you think a school counsellor can work in the wider school setting to support a child alongside one-to-one?

We will also ask you to upload a graduation certificate or proof of completion for any external counselling qualifications you have previously completed. Please have these to hand before starting your application.

Please complete all stages of the following application. Please note that your session will timeout if you are inactive for longer than 30 minutes. Once you submit your application, it is final and cannot be edited or reopened.
