The countdown begins for The King's Cup Regatta

Place2Be will be one of eight charities benefitting from the inaugural King's Cup Regatta on 9 August.

In just four weeks' time, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will go head to head in a major sailing regatta race this summer in support of Their Royal Highnesses’ charitable causes, including Place2Be.

Eight teams will compete in the Regatta in Cowes next month, with each boat representing a charity chosen by the Duke and Duchess. The winning team will be awarded The King’s Cup, a trophy first presented by King George V in 1920.

The Duchess, our Royal Patron, has chosen to support Place2Be, Action on Addiction, the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families, and The Royal Foundation in connection with Her Royal Highness’s work on Early Years.

Catherine Roche, Chief Executive of Place2Be, said: “Place2Be is absolutely delighted to be chosen as one of the charities represented in The King’s Cup Regatta. We will be cheering on Place2Be’s royal patron, The Duchess of Cambridge, who plays a hugely beneficial role in raising awareness of our important work to improve the mental wellbeing of children in schools across the UK.”
