Why this group exists

To support you through your event journey, from training and fundraising, through to race day and post-event celebration, together.

Do’s

  • Be kind, respectful and supportive

  • Share training and fundraising tips, updates and encouragement

  • Keep conversations relevant to the event

  • Celebrate each other’s progress

Don’ts

  • No offensive, discriminatory or inappropriate content

  • Don’t share others’ phone numbers or personal info outside the group

  • Avoid sharing sensitive personal details (e.g. health or personal circumstances)

  • No spam or unrelated promotions

  • Don’t share confidential, sensitive or identifying information about children, young people, families, service users, schools, safeguarding matters, or any individual connected with Place2Be. Members may share their personal experiences and reasons for supporting Place2Be, provided they do not disclose information that could identify another person or compromise their privacy, safety or confidentiality.

Privacy & Safety

  • Everyone in the group can see your profile name, profile photo and phone number

  • Your messages can be seen by the group, and may still exist after the group ends (e.g. screenshots or backups)

  • Please think carefully before sharing personal information

Moderation

  • Managed by Place2Be staff

  • Checked during working hours only (Monday – Friday, 10.00am – 4.00pm)

  • We will make every effort to answer questions and participate in discussions, but please be aware that if the chat moves too quickly we may miss something. If you have a specific question for Place2Be or see something which concerns you, please contact the team directly by phone or email.

  • We may remove content or participants if guidelines are not followed

This group is completely optional – you can leave at any time.

The WhatsApp group is not monitored continuously and is not an emergency or mental health support service. Anyone requiring urgent support should contact emergency services, NHS 111, Samaritans, or other appropriate support services. This group is not monitored 24/7.
