How Place2Be supports your school’s Inclusion Strategy
How Place2Be supports your school’s Inclusion Strategy
As your school plans their Inclusion Strategy and how to allocate new government funding, we've provided a summary of the Inclusive Mainstream Fund, how it can be used for Place2Be provision and how we help you to meet the DfE’s 7 Principles of Inclusion.
What is the Inclusive Mainstream Fund?
The Inclusive Mainstream Fund (IMF) is designed to support all mainstream schools to be inclusive by design, focusing on whole school, preventative approaches. Your school’s funding is based on your pupil population and number of Lower Prior Attaining (LPA) pupils.
What your Inclusion Strategy needs to include
The commonly occurring needs and barriers of your pupils
How funding will be spent against the 7 Principles of Inclusion
The activities undertaken to meet those needs and the impact they will have
Evidence that the strategy has been refined through scrutiny by governors and trustees
How can the funding be used?
Your IMF allocation can be used to fund universal and embedded provision that supports early intervention and whole school approaches to inclusion. This includes supporting all pupils’ mental health and wellbeing and SEND pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
