We understand that not everyone will be able to do their skydive on the 10 October for World Mental Health Day. You can still skydive for Place2Be and help raise funds to help us ensure that no child or young person faces a mental health problem alone.
By joining #TeamPlace2Be, you'll be fundraising for our vital in-school services to help more children and young people get the mental health support they need.
Every penny and pound you raise through your skydive will fund:
- mental health support in schools for pupils
- vital mental health training and resources for staff, parents and families
- our work increasing the number of mental health professionals who can become a qualified counsellor with Place2Be.

What is World Mental Health Day?
Every year on 10 October, the World Health Organisation (WHO) organises World Mental Health Day. The day encourages people to talk about mental health and aims to reduce stigma associated with mental health.
Find out more about World Mental Health Day on the WHO website.
What happens during a Tandem skydive?
A Tandem skydive allows you to enjoy the exhilarating feeling of flying through the clouds at 120mph, without needing to do lots of training. You’ll be with a qualified tandem instructor for the whole of the 10,000 feet dive; you’ll jump out and free fall together until your instructor opens your parachute at about 5,000 feet before you float down together to a soft landing. It is a truly unforgettable experience.
How much does it cost to do a charity skydive for Place2Be?
Each skydive has a registration fee and a fundraising pledge, which is a minimum amount of money we ask that you raise. Don’t worry – our friendly fundraising team will be supporting you every step of the way!
The fee is usually £70 with a fundraising pledge of £450 but it can vary depending on the skydiving event and location.
Where can I skydive?
You can choose between lots of locations all in England, Scotland and Wales.
