Mental health services in Welsh schools
We offer various mental health services to meet the needs of Welsh schools. Our services include universal and targeted support for children, young people and their families. We also provide teachers and school staff with expert training, support, and resources surrounding mental health and wellbeing.
Our in-school service includes a fully qualified mental health professional who becomes integral to the school team. They work closely with pupils, families, and staff to improve emotional wellbeing and provide mental health support for the whole school.
Mental health services we provide in schools include:
- Place2Talk - a universal drop-in service for students
- Place2Think - consultation for teachers and school staff
- whole-class sessions and assemblies with wellbeing themes
- targeted one-to-one counselling
- Journey of Hope - a group work programme that develops resilience and self-confidence
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) informed targeted support - Knowledge, Insight, Tools (KIT)
- support for parents and carers
- consultations on emotional wellbeing and behaviour tailored to each school.
