Why fundraise for Place2Be
Join Team Place2Be, fundraise for mental health, and help us work towards a future where no child has to face a mental health problem alone.
Together, we’ve been transforming the lives of children and young people since 1994. Our work wouldn’t be possible without the money you raise and donate. We are so grateful for all your support.
could pay for a drop-in counselling session where children can refer themselves to see a mental health professional
could pay for a child to share their thoughts and feelings in a one-to-one counselling session
could support two children to attend their first one-to-one counselling session to get the support they need
Every single one of your donations goes towards getting children and young people in schools across the UK the vital mental health support they need.
Your donations fund:
- mental health support services in schools for pupils, including whole-class activities, short appointments with a mental health professional, group work and one-to-one counselling
- vital training and resources for school staff, parents and families to better understand their pupils and children
- our work building the mental health professional workforce, providing qualifying courses for prospective child counsellors.
Fundraising for Place2Be
Fundraising for Place2Be supports our vital work to ensure no child faces mental health problems alone. But it also brings lots of opportunities to your school, nursery, or college, that all contribute to a whole-school approach to mental health.
Improve the lives of vulnerable children across the UK
1 in 5 children now have a probable mental health condition. There has never been a more critical time to prioritise children and young people's wellbeing.
After one-to-one counselling with Place2Be, 76% of children showed an improvement in mental health. Join us to make sure no child faces mental health problems alone.
Spread mental health awareness
Choosing to fundraise for us can help you normalise talking about mental health, reducing stigma and encouraging children and young people to seek support. Alongside your chosen fundraising activity, we encourage you to:
- use our Children's Mental Health Week resources: discover worksheets, assemblies, and fun activities that explore mental health and wellbeing
- run a creative wellbeing activity: dive into our Art Room's creative art projects to introduce diverse wellbeing themes
- guide children and young people to support: encourage reaching out for help and signpost pupils and students to relevant support services.
Build an inclusive and supportive community
Fundraising for Place2Be will help improve children and young people's learning experience and create a more lively, inclusive and supportive learning community. It gives you opportunities to:
- foster a sense of togetherness: unite children, young people and adults from all backgrounds to celebrate diversity
- teach valuable life skills: develop teamwork and communication skills in your learning community while highlighting the importance of inclusivity
- encourage a culture of generosity: recognise and value diverse contributions from everyone involved.

Place2Be is the UK’s leading children and young people’s mental health charity providing mental health support in schools. We believe that no child or young person should have to face mental health problems alone.
Your donations go towards equipping schools and communities with the skills and knowledge they need to support their pupils’ wellbeing.
Three key things to know about Place2Be
We are pioneers in the importance of early intervention – our support services empower children and young people from a young age, giving them the confidence, resilience and coping skills they need to thrive in later life.
We developed the whole-school approach – our work improves the mental health and wellbeing of the whole school community, from pupils to school staff.
We build the mental health workforce of the future - thousands of mental health professionals have trained with us, and we have goals to continue building the workforce by making it a more accessible and inclusive career.

We offer the opportunity to become a partner school. Partner schools receive a variety of mental health support services that encourage a whole-school approach to mental health. When a school partners with us, the support services are tailored to the needs of that school so they can get the most benefit.
Our services in schools
We equip people with the skills and experience they need to support children and young people. For anyone wanting to become a child counsellor, they can train with Place2Be no matter how far through their journey they are.
How to become a child counsellor
We developed Parenting Smart, which is full of articles, tips and videos for parents, families and carers with primary-aged children. These resources were designed to help your parenting journey be as easy as possible to navigate, so you can best support your child's wellbeing.
