Who we support in Wales
We currently offer our services in 20 schools located in South and West Wales. The communities we work in face many challenges, including poverty, domestic violence and complex needs.
Place2Talk is a mental health service that allows pupils to make an appointment to spend 15–30 minutes with a trained counsellor, alone or with a friend, to discuss any issues they might have. Issues discussed within Place2Talk in Wales include:
- friendships
- worry
- sadness
- loss and bereavement
- anger
- relationships with siblings
- relationships with parents and carers.
Eight-year-old Elinor from South Wales was identified as a child who might benefit from Place2Be counselling services. After building trust with the Place2Be counsellor, Elinor opened up about how she was feeling and what she could do to help in the future.
