Celebrating a month of impact with Morgan Stanley

Place2Be was delighted to take part in Morgan Stanley’s Global Volunteer Month (GVM). This annual initiative encourages employees globally to volunteer and give back to local communities. As one of the firm’s strategic charity partners, we were delighted to host eight volunteering events over eight weeks, connecting Morgan Stanley teams directly with pupils and educators.

A partnership rooted in purpose

Place2Be is proud to be one of Morgan Stanley’s three London charity partners – a relationship built on a shared commitment to improving children’s mental health and wellbeing. Through this partnership, Morgan Stanley and Place2Be are working together to improve the emotional well-being and life prospects of children and young people in East London, while also empowering employees to support children in our schools through volunteering. Global Volunteering Month provides a meaningful opportunity to deepen this connection, as staff engaged directly with the school communities that this partnership helps to uplift.

A heartfelt thank you to Morgan Stanley and all the incredible colleagues who gave their time and energy throughout Global Volunteering Month. Your creativity, enthusiasm, and dedication made a lasting impact—especially in sessions like the one described by a participating school as “imaginative, innovative and inspirational.” Selma Harman, Area Manager of London East End at Place2Be

Eight events, countless connections

The eight events offered 330 students from primary and secondary schools a unique chance to build skills and confidence for the future. Morgan Stanley volunteers took part in Mock Interviews and a dynamic Careers Speed Networking session with secondary school pupils, helping them to explore career paths and practise essential communication skills. For primary school students, our Chocolate Trading Game introduced the basics of trading and teamwork using chocolate coins – a fun and engaging way to learn more about the work of Morgan Stanley. Sixth formers also benefited from a virtual CV review process, receiving tailored feedback to support their next steps toward their careers. These events were a wonderful opportunity for the students, and we’re truly grateful to the volunteers for contributing their time to support our work.

The children were fully engaged, joyfully trading chocolate and learning through play, and it was clear how much they benefited from the experience. After the intensity of SATs, this was a truly uplifting moment for the class. Selma Harman, Area Manager of London East End at Place2Be

Looking ahead together

Reflecting on the success of this year’s Global Volunteer Month, we are inspired by the impact that our partnership has achieved through shared dedication. By working together, we continue to build mentally healthier school communities, and we’re excited to continue this important work in the months and years to come.
