Resilience: Wellbeing without Words

Our recommended introductory course, this workshop focuses on developing listening skills and creative, non-verbal ways to communicate effectively with young people.

Self-belief: Helping Children Thrive

This workshop provides a practical model for helping children and adolescents to develop resilience and emotional wellbeing.

Understanding Attachment

This in-depth workshop looks at traditional and new research, explores some of the theories of attachment, separation and loss.

Growing through Games

Through exploring modern research on the theory of play, this highly interactive workshop explores the use of group-based games through practice and discussion.

Introduction to Counselling Skills

This workshop gives practical advice based on counselling skills for professionals working with children and young people, and teaches how observation, reflection and questioning can be of great benefit in everyday interactions. 

Coping with Transition

This practical workshop is underpinned by academic theory around attachment and different forms of loss and change.

Understanding Adolescents

Participants will explore ways to help young people negotiate, understand, process and overcome the stresses and anxiety of growing up. 

Working with Parents

This workshop offers practical approaches to help manage this key relationship. 

Supporting Children in the Playground

This introductory workshop offers participants the opportunity to build on existing skills, developing their confidence to understand and deal with children’s challenging behaviour in the playground.

Schools Inset Training by The Art Room

The Art Room uses structured creative sessions to support children's confidence, relationships and engagement with learning. Schools inset training focuses on building aspects of this practice into the classroom and small group work.

Safeguarding Children and Young People

All organisations and individuals working with children and young people have a responsibility to promote their welfare and keep them safe. Participants will leave feeling more confident in their ability to identify and respond to any child protection concerns.

Peer Mentoring

This training offers year 11/12/13 students the opportunity to develop and enhance their capacity in their role as Peer Mentor for students in years 5 to 8.
