School-based Consultation Sessions

Time to reflect about work

These consultations offer a confidential, reflective space for school and community-based professionals to consider challenges or dilemmas at work. 

Delivered by Place2Be mental health practitioners to individuals or small groups, you will receive specialist support for yourself and the community of your school or workplace.  

Themes could include:

  • Understanding communication behind children's behaviour.
  • Developing strategies to address class or playground issues (e.g. bullying, change of teacher, friendships).
  • Building resilient working relationships with children with identified mental health needs.
  • Reflecting on your own emotional response to children / the class.
  • Enhancing self-care (e.g. stress, feeling overwhelmed).
  • Managing staff mental health issues and its impact on practice.
  • Considering a whole-school-approach to mental health.
  • Developing your mental health strategy and relevant policies.

 

Who is this suitable for?

All school staff (leadership, pastoral, teaching, non-teaching) could benefit from this service

How does it work?

Sessions are between 1 to 2 hours in length and usually commissioned in blocks of 6 sessions.
