Our child counselling courses, qualifications and placements in schools are informed by over 25 years of experience delivering mental health services. We also offer a Bursary Pathway for applicants who may face financial barriers when applying for our qualifications.

Our counselling qualifications
Taster day
The starting point for all our child counselling courses. Experience what it is like to be a children's counsellor.
Introduction to Child Counselling Skills (Level 2 Award)
This award will introduce you to the skills and theory you need to work therapeutically with children and young people.
Intermediate Child Counselling Skills (Level 3 Certificate)
Develop your skills and theory as a child counsellor. Once complete, you can apply for one of our child Counselling Placements.
Level 4 Diploma in School-Based Child Counselling
This one-year intensive course will allow you to qualify as a counsellor in 12 months and includes placement experience in a Place2Be Partner School.
Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Children in Schools
Gain the expertise and experience you need to become a qualified child counsellor.
Child Counselling Skills for Adult Counsellors (Level 5 Certificate)
This Certificate will build advanced counselling knowledge and play skills to work therapeutically with children and young people.
Counselling Supervision Certificate (Level 6 Certificate)
Designed for experienced counsellors, our Certificate enables clinicians to practice as clinical supervisors in line with ethical standards.
