05/09/2018

Place2Be has been selected as one of the chosen partner charities of Citi’s ‘e for education’ campaign for 2018.

This global initiative has raised over £17.4 million for education-focused non-profits since its inception in 2013, supporting over 250,000 pupils and students globally.

From the 4th September to 2nd November 2018, Citi's Foreign Exchange and Local Markets business will donate $1 for every $1 million of FX and Local Market Bonds traded electronically.

The funds raised by Citi e for education will help Place2Be continue to support thousands of children and young people in schools across the UK, ensuring that their problems don’t grow with them and they have the tools to cope with life’s future challenges.

Alongside Place2Be, the charities currently supported by this campaign include Civic Builders, EMpower, Fallen Patriots, Malala Fund, Room to Read, Reach the World, SkillForce, Teach First and Uncommon Schools.

Catherine Roche, Chief Executive at Place2Be said:

“Place2Be is thrilled to be a new charity partner for Citi’s e for education programme. We know that at least three children in every classroom have a diagnosable mental health issue, and many continue to have these problems into adulthood. The funds raised by Citi e for education will help us continue to support thousands of pupils in schools across the UK, ensuring that they are able to access their education and thrive. By providing support in schools not only do children with poor mental health benefit, but the entire school community also enjoys a better learning environment and increased emotional literacy.”

Nadir Mahmud, Citi’s Global Head of Foreign Exchange and Local Markets said:

“We are pleased to expand the scope of Citi’s e for education campaign and welcome additional partners to further support youth education in the local communities we operate in.”
