Luca from Allfarthing Primary School represented Place2Be at the Gentlemen’s Singles Final by performing the pre-match coin toss

Eleven-year-old Luca Schmetzer, who attends Place2Be partner school Allfarthing Primary in Wandsworth, took centre stage at the Gentlemen’s Singles Final on Sunday 16 July after being chosen by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge to perform the pre-match coin toss.

Luca, who has benefited from Place2Be’s support at school and who loves tennis, attended the match alongside his family who watched him on Centre Court with an estimated worldwide audience of 1.2 billion.

Place2Be Royal Patron HRH The Duchess of Cambridge was invited by The Wimbledon Foundation, the official charity of The All England Lawn Tennis Club and The Championships, to nominate a charity to perform the pre-match coin toss in her new role as Patron of the All England Club.
