BAFTA Kids Roadshow with Place2Be – Manchester

Our third stop was St Margaret's CofE Primary School in Manchester

The third stop on our BAFTA Kids Roadshow was St Margaret's CofE Primary School in Manchester. The school was paid a special visit by CBBC presenters Ben Shires and Katie Thistleton and Leona Vaughan, who plays Jana in CBBC’s Wolfblood.

Alongside having a TV presenting masterclass, the Key Stage 2 students were also treated to a Behind The Scenes’ assembly. Helen Blakeman who is a BAFTA-winning writer for children, including Jacqueline Wilson’s Dustbin Baby and Chair of the BAFTA’s Children’s Committee, also attended the visit. She was joined by Michelle Orange, a generous supporter of the BAFTA Kids and Place2Be partnership.

After the special guests had left, a 8-year-old boy in said to his teacher: "You know Miss, there are two things I wanted to achieve in my life and today I managed one of them. I met Ben Shires and high fived him. He is my hero!"
