Place2Be is a leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert training to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff. Our mission is to help build “mentally healthy” schools and communities where children can thrive and grow up with prospects rather than problems.

We currently provide mental health support in 294 primary and secondary schools across England, Scotland and Wales, reaching 142,000 children and young people.

Last year, 232 schools took part in our in-depth flagship ‘Mental Health Champions’ programmes, equipping school leaders, teachers and staff with the skills and confidence to support pupils’ mental health. Place2Be is a General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) Professional Learning Award Organisation, and our Mental Health Champions programmes are endorsed by the Scottish College of Educational Leadership (SCEL).

1,044 child counsellors took part in our validated professional qualifications training – from introductory sessions to our Masters programme, building an ever-growing body of professionals who specialise in working with children and young people.  With the announcement this year by the Scottish Government that every high school in Scotland will have counselling provision there is a growing need, and Place2Be is committed to helping to equip counsellors to the highest standard.

With 1 in 5 children experiencing a mental health difficulty at least once before they are 11, our mission of early intervention is now more critical than ever. And with an increasing demand for our training programmes we are currently seeking experienced and outstanding trainers, to work on a contract basis, in our mission to build the children’s mental health workforce across the United Kingdom.

Enriching and sensitive work, you will have the opportunity to work at the frontline of our work with a range of professionals – from teachers through to counsellors.

We expect our trainers to share our core values of perseverance, integrity, compassion and creativity and are looking for trainers who are confident to work with diverse groups.
